TOBI WALKER

Ajibiye, Tobiloba Philemon, fondly known as Tobi Walker, is a recording and performing gospel artiste based in Lagos, Nigeria. Born and raised in Lagos, he hails from Kwara State.

Growing up as a preacher’s kid, Tobi Walker joined the choir at an early age. As he rose through the ranks, he learned to play several musical instruments but eventually discovered his true passion in vocal performance.

Despite being raised in an orthodox church, Tobi’s musical expression was never confined by tradition. He often sang at weddings and other events, performing love songs — a reflection of the soulful essence that continues to define his approach to gospel music today. Throughout his journey, he has enjoyed unwavering support from his parents, especially his father, an ECWA reverend.

Tobi holds a B.Sc. in Cell, Molecular Biology, and Genetics as well as an M.Sc. in Human Genetics from the University of Lagos. A geneticist by training, he currently works part-time with a business coaching firm in Lagos.

Over the years, Tobi Walker has worked alongside many respected and anointed voices in the gospel music space. He first caught the eye as a lead vocalist with the youth expression of House on the Rock Church during his university days, and later with The Fifth Community of Harvesters International Christian Centre. He now serves faithfully as a vocalist at RCCG JoshuaVille, a place he proudly calls home. Tobi is also a member of the renowned collective HHPG.

Blending contemporary and soul influences, Tobi Walker continues to carve a unique niche in the gospel music landscape. With a growing global audience and powerful songs such as Song of Angels (featuring Abbey Ojomu and Gwen Samuel), With My Heart, and his most recent release ABBA — a deeply moving reminder of God’s fatherly love — Tobi’s sound captures both calm and grit, sincerity and electricity.

A perfect fusion of soul and spirit, Tobi Walker is one of the voices shaping the future of gospel music.
